Organizational & Infrastructure:
- Revised bylaws, including revised descriptions for board positions.
- Opened a checking account.
- Elected a board.
- Started collecting dues.
- Became WA State Nonprofit.
- Federal 501(c)3 status in progress
- Held second election, to elect officers for 2019.
Outreach:
- Hosted 8th Annual New Horizons in Lactation Conference, with 96 attendees.
- Created the curriculum for the day, bringing together local speakers + 4 panelists.
Employer Recognition Program:
- 2nd year of program
- Expanded recognition: from 7 employers in 2017 to 11 employers recognized in 2018.
- Revised and expanded survey including translating to Spanish.
- Thanks to Lisa and Brandi for spearheading the project this year.
Journal Club:
- Began meeting in January.
- Hosted at Pacific Wellness & Lactation – Thanks to BreAnne and Jennifer for hosting.
- Met monthly (2nd Wednesday of the month)
Meetings:
- Increased regular meeting attendance.
- Broadened membership to include additional agencies and community lactation support.
